Ebenezer family, I thank you for making my birthday special with your greetings of cards, phone calls and e-mails. Plus, I enjoy the special peppermints from Holland as an after-dinner treat.  Every day is a special gift from God.     June VH

We delivered the paper products to the Crisis Intervention Center in Oskaloosa. They were in great need of them and were incredibly grateful for the donation, as their stock pile was very low. We decided to leave the entire donation to them and will be doing another donation later this year for the food bank. Thank you so much for the outpouring of love by the Ebenezer family for again being so giving.

I really want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.  I appreciate this church - the calls, cards, visits and love shown to me through many occasions.  Thank you also to Women's Ministry for the gifts and encouragement.

                                                                                    Frank Terpstra

Next Sunday, May 30, is the fifth Sunday of May.  We are planning a potluck lunch following the service and Sunday school.  The church will provide hamburgers and hot dogs with the sides and desserts being potluck.  We will plan on eating outside, weather permitting.

Congratulations to Hannah Adams and Christian Rempe on graduating from 8th grade, Katie Veldhuizen on graduating from high school, and Alissa Newendorp on graduating from college.  May God bless you all as you begin the next chapter of your lives.

Women's Ministries are collecting items for the Crisis Intervention Center of Oskaloosa and local food pantries of Oskaloosa and Pella.  We are asking you to donate paper products, personal hygiene items, or any non-perishable food.  We will be collecting throughout the month of May before delivering items.  Please leave in foyer by elevator or in the kitchen.

Anyone who would like the list of verses that were highlighted in Katie's graduation Bible can pick up a copy from the table in the entryway.

You are invited to The Heartland Hymn Sing which will be held at Calvary Church, 408 Maple St., Pella, on Sunday evening, June 6 at 6:00 PM.  Join us for an uplifting worship experience singing the familiar hymns of the Faith.  Tom Brown will be our worship leader, along with pianist Barb Nunnikhoven and organist Darwin Van Wyk.  There will also be several special numbers presented by local area singers.  Come join us as we worship God together in song! The elders have decided that we will not have a worship service that night so all are free to attend this Hymn Sing instead.

Leighton Lions will be holding a blood drive on Monday, June 7 from 2:30-6:30 in the Leighton Christian Reformed Church Fellowship Hall.  To schedule an appointment to donate, please contact Gary Vandenberg at 641-780-0694. Thank you for your continued support of our blood program.

It's time again to start planning for the church campout.  We are scheduling it for September 10-12 at Wallashuck campground. If you plan to camp, please reserve your own site in Pioneer Grove loop, sites 61-80.  Then sign up on the paper on the table in the basement.

Don’t be ashamed to talk about God. Be ashamed not to.
