    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    We would like to thank everyone for their calls, messages, cards and prayers for our family during this last couple of months. Our family has had some hard and trying times but God is faithful. We know that God called us to the right home church. We could never thank you enough for your love and kindness you have expressed toward us. Thank you for welcoming us into the family.  Sincerely, The Smiths
    Nomination ballots for Elder and Deacon have been mailed.  Please return them to church and put them in the ballot box by Sunday, October 3.  If you did not receive yours or if you did not receive enough ballots, please see a current elder or Pastor Todd to get more.
    Another women's Bible study will begin on October 7 on Thursday nights opposite book club weeks at 7:00 pm.  We'll be using the study "Chase" by Jennie Allen consisting of 8 sessions of short video followed by discussion/study. Chase provides us with a chance to discover the heart of God and what it is that He wants from us.  This study takes a look at 7 major events in the life of David and his psalms that flowed out of those experiences.  David was reckless, broken, sinful, passionate and humble.  The message of his life is that God wants the deepest part of us to truly know and love Him.  This study will help us move beyond the appearance of godliness and learn to truly adore God.  Please let Angie know if you're interested in being a part of this study.
    Save the date - Tuesday, December 7, 2021 - Festival of Tables returns. Hostesses, it's not too early to start planning your special table.
    FREE EVENT - October 1-3 Iowa Celebration with Will Graham. Love, hope, music and fun at Wells Fargo Arena.  See poster on the church entry door for more information.
    Love INC Thrift Shoppe is now accepting donations from 9-4 pm Monday thru Friday at 200 High Ave W (Penn Central Mall). At this time, they will not be accepting TVs or large furniture.  The store opening date has not been determined yet. They'd like to fill it first.
    Love INC is also currently seeking volunteers for their Mahaska Connect event that will be held on Saturday, October 23rd from 8 am to 1 pm. Volunteer training will again be at 6:30 am. Please sign up on their website (loveincmahaska.org) or email loveincofmahaskacounty@gmail.com. They need guides, prayer team, intake team, runners, sanitation team, security team, drivers, etc. They are looking forward to what God will do through the Church and with their community partners this year at Mahaska Connect.
    If God said "yes" to every prayer you prayed in the last 7 days, how would the world be different?
    Ebenezer, you did it again!  What a wonderful outpouring of love and support for the school supplies to Crossroads.  They were delivered on Wednesday and they were so happy to have the donations, as the supply had dwindled these past few weeks.  Thank you for all the donations!                             Women’s Ministry
    Pastor Todd will begin his service as Classis President at the next Classis meeting in September.  Please keep him in your prayers as he serves in this unique time.
    At our last meeting, the Elders granted the request to place on the table in the entrance a petition for people to sign in support of passing the General Assembly House File 272 as sponsored by Rep. Dean Fisher, et al, which calls for striking "Gender Identity" from the Iowa Civil Rights Act.  You are encouraged to give thought to this and sign the petition if you are in favor of it.
    You will find in your mailbox a book entitled, Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers.  This is a book about who Jesus is.  As we have been listening to the Bible teach us about heaven, it seems good that we look a little more closely at Who it is who makes heaven, heaven.  This is a gift to you.  I pray you enjoy it and are drawn into a deeper love for Jesus.  I do have some extra copies.  Please let me (Pastor Todd) know if you would like one.
    Individuals that have prayerfully decided that they would like to remove their name from consideration for the offices of Elders and Deacon will need to meet with the Elders following the morning service on either August 29th or September 5th.
    Women, a very special day is being planned for August 28 and we don't want you to miss it.  Our guest speaker will be Alicia Bruxvoort who will be speaking on “The Wonder of With:Choosing to Do Life Together in a World that Makes us Feel Alone”.  Joe and Diana Brummel will also be sharing camp stories and giving tours to let us know what's new with Lake View Camp ministries.  We'd like your registration by Sunday, August 22 so we have enough lunches for everyone.  We will meet at 9:00 am and our goal is to be finished by 2:00 pm.  Rides can be arranged so just let us know if you need one.  Additional information and registration forms are on the table by the bulletins in the entry way.   Questions?  Call/text Angie at (515)494-9062.
    Women Alone Together will meet at Ebenezer on Tuesday August 31 from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm.   If you need a ride, please contact Kathy Chamra (641-780-2160) or Gloria Bartlett (641-660-5309).  Come join the good conversation and great coffee time!!
    We are planning to meet monthly on the last Tuesday until the snow flies!!
    Enjoy an opportunity for Christian fellowship and spiritual renewal on Thursday, September 16 at Calvary CRC in Pella. Bible League's day-long retreat begins at 9:30 am and includes multiple sessions with keynote speaker Kelli (Kredit) Gotthardt.  For more information or to register online, go to bibleleague.org/tickets or forms are in the entryway on the table.
    Forgive them even if they're not sorry.
    We need at least 4 basic elements to survive:
    1. Water
    2. Air
    3. Food
    4. Light
    And look what the Bible tell us about Jesus:
    1. I am the Living Water
    2. I am the Breath of Life
    3. I am the Bread of Life
    4. I am the Light of the World
    Science was right - we need Jesus to live!
